I like the collage of photos of this quilt. I have spent the past two years making it - on and off during that time - I didn't want to hurry the process. It is a quilt for my best friend's birthday in June. And now I'm hurrying to finish sewing the binding and make a label for the back.
The colours are my favourites and in fact this was my collection of special fabrics that I found hard to cut into, that is until I decided I wanted to make a quilt for Christine. These are her favourite colours too - the wonderful paua shell colours.
So at the moment everything else takes a bit of a back seat to getting this finished. The cats are helping by sitting on it whenever they can and softie that I am I can't disturb them - that's what is making it a slow process at the moment.

Egg-zack-ly - paua shell colours
You are so clever.
Say Happy Birthday to Christine from me too
Looks absolutely gorgeous.
WOW, my birthday was just a few days ago (hint, hint)! Lucky Christine! It is awesome! She will be thrilled, I bet she'll cry, I would.Really, really beautiful.
Funny about the cats, mine little fellow loves to be right in the middle of what I'm doing too. Just like a kid, wants to be the center of attention. They're funny aren't they?
I love the colors in this. It is gorgeous.
Hey Kathryn ... just had a little peek (actually, more of a voyeuristic perve!) at MY quilt!
You little beauty!
Counting down the days - may camp out down at the mailbox ...
Waiting in an ... tici ...pa ...
... tion ...! All my birthdays and Xmas's WRAPPED into one special gift from one very special friend.
Love, Christine
Lucky cats to be so loved you won't move them to quilt! The quilt looks great, beautiful colors...got a close-up photo?
What a wonderful quilt.
I love the colors...but I've never seen a paua shell.
